It involves the measurement of central corneal thickness in order to correctly assess the intraocular pressure (IOP). Corneal thickness affects the result of IOP measurement; in patients with thicker cornea, the result is overestimated while in the case of thin cornea, the value is underestimated. Moreover, the risk of glaucoma progression is higher in patients with thin corneas. The examination may be performed using a contact method (ultrasound scan) or non-contact (optic) method. It lasts about 3 minutes and is painless[\/vc_column_text]
